Sonia Castang is writer and director with a passion for creating emotionally rich genre stories that truthfully explores characters in extreme situations. After graduating from National Film & Television School producing course and producing trailers and corporates, she moved into writing and directing and has directed short films for Film London and Screen East. She has been selected for the UK Film Council (BFI) New Feature Writer Scheme, the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Tribeca Film Institute All Access Programme. Most recently she was chosen to participate in the BFI’s talent development initiative, Think Shoot Distribute and her children’s fantasy horror feature idea reached the semi-finals of the Wellcome Trust Screenwriting Prize and was praised for its “imagination and human warmth”. She directs commercials and corporate videos whilst developing features with producers and her collaborators.
