Tribeca All Access® 2009
Sudz Sutherland’s latest feature, Toronto Stories, was conceived as an anthology in conjunction with 3 other directors and invited to the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. Sutherland recently completed the dramatic miniseries Guns for CBC, and has written and directed the triple Gemini Award-winning Doomstown. Sutherland’s debut feature, Love, Sex, and Eating the Bones, was nominated for a Genie Award, and his short film, My Father’s Hands, received recognitions at the 2000 Yorkton Film Festival, the HBO Short Film Award at the Acapulco Black Film Festival, as well as a nomination for a Gemini Award for Best Short. Sutherland is currently in production for his second feature, Home Again, and developing two other features, The Way The Ball Bounces and Operation Red Dog.
Three deportees are sent back to Jamaica only to be ostracized by their fellow islanders, forcing them to reconsider who they truly are and where they belong.
